A suspicious vehicle on Caldwell Drive on July 1 lead to the arrest of two individuals for possession of alcohol. Sgt. Jack McEwan observed a vehicle parked at 1:08am, and upon further investigation arrested a male resident of Midland Park, age 20; and a female resident of Wyckoff, age 20. Both individuals were charged with possession of alcohol while under the legal drinking age. They were released in their own recognizance and are scheduled to appear in municipal court on August 5.
Also on July 1, Ptl. Brian Zivkovich arrested a Wyckoff resident, age 43; and charged him with providing false information to a law enforcement officer in order to hinder his apprehension. Ptl. Zivkovich and Det. Michael Musto had responded to another Kingston Street home to investigate a neighbor complaint. When Ptl. Zivkovich went to the suspect’s home to speak with him, he initially identified himself as another individual by providing a false name and address.
The Wyckoff resident’s true identity was uncovered and it was determined that there were active warrants for his arrest from Beach Haven New Jersey in the amount of $2,800. He was released in his own recognizance and will appear in Wyckoff municipal court to answer the false information charge, and was also given a court date in Beach Haven.
Following the investigation of the theft of an auto that was parked on Fox Hollow Road on July 14; Det. Michael Musto charged a 19 year old Wyckoff woman with her involvement of the missing vehicle. A Ringwood man reported that he was at a party and discovered his car missing. The subsequent investigation determined that the Wyckoff female had the car parked on the street near her home. She was charged on a criminal complaint with taking the vehicle without the consent of the owner and is scheduled to appear in municipal court on August 26.
On July 15 at 1:01am, Wyckoff Police responded to a home to investigate a domestic violence incident. Sgt. Daniel Kellogg, Ptl. Terrance Murphy and Ptl. Michael Demaio determined that a 46 year old Wyckoff woman had been assaulted by both her 48 year old husband and her 18 year old son. The investigation determined that an argument started between the woman and her son that became physical, her husband then got involved and allegedly assaulted her as well. The woman was taken by Wyckoff Volunteer Ambulance Corps to the hospital for treatment of head injuries. Both men were charged with assault, released under $2,500 bail, and will appear in municipal court.
