showercurtain2On August 10 at 11:14pm, Wyckoff Police responded to 373 Carriage Lane to investigate a report of a loud party. Sgt. Michael Ragucci and Ptl. Brian Zivkoich responded and as they approached the house, individuals began running from the property and warning others of the arrival of the police. The front lights of the home were turned off, and the officers walked into the rear yard and found the area littered with beer cans, and a “beer pong” table was set up on the patio. They estimated that about 50 young adults fled the area, and the rear yard was now empty with the doors into the house standing open. Hundreds of beer cans were found throughout the rooms of the house as the officers announced their presence and entered to locate a property owner or host of the party, as well as to ascertain whether anyone needed help or medical assistance. A small group of juveniles were found in the basement, with nobody claiming to know about the homeowner. Sgt. Ragucci and Ptl. Zivkovich entered the second floor of the home and found a locked door to the master bedroom bathroom. The knob met with resistance to the officers effort to open it, despite no verbal acknowledgement from anyone inside. The door was finally opened from the inside and Renee L. Schwacke, age 18; stated that she lived in the home. The officers stepped into the bathroom and found Renee’s sister, Meryl H. Schwacke,   age 22 standing inside. Sgt. Ragucci then pulled back the shower curtain and found the mother of both girls, Lora Schwacke, age 51; crouched in the corner of the shower as if attempting to hide. All three women were arrested and charged with making property available to underage persons to consume alcoholic beverages, and with maintaining property for an illegal purpose by hosting an underage drinking party. They were each released in their own recognizance and are scheduled to appear in municipal court on September 23.

He was released in his own recognizance and will appear in municipal court.
