Did you know?
(1) In December, 2005,four Wyckoff residents rallied to challenge the variances given to permit the development of the Deep Voll Ravine. This challenge was the beginning of the Friends of Wyckoff. During this past membership drive the residents of Wyckoff have provided us with a tremendous show of support. These past five years has seen our unique civic organization grow and evolve to help preserve the last of the open space in our town, to protect and plant trees, and to help preserve historic buildings and sites. Thanks to all of you who responded to our membership drive.
(2) The town of Wyckoff did not recycle electronics until 2009, when it was forced by state mandate to offer residential electronics. Noting the need to save taxes by reducing municipal waste and protect the environment, Friends held its first electronics recycling day in March, 2008 and collected 14 tons of electronics. Working computers and televisions were donated to several charitable organizations and other materials were recycled. We are delighted at the great progress Wyckoff is now making to improving recycling and saving both our environment and tax dollars by doing so.
